Baptism

"As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

​The Power of Baptism

Baptism is so significant that it was the baptism of Jesus that we see in a rare instance in scripture, the Trinity aligned in perfect harmony. We have Jesus (God the Son) who was being baptized by John, then heaven opened and the Holy Spirit (God the Spirit) descending upon Jesus and a voice from heaven saying, "The is my Son, whom I love, and I am well pleased." (God the Father)

It was also baptism as a strategy that John the Baptist was given by God to identify when the Lamb would be seen, and finally it was baptism that introduced the life and ministry of Jesus. 

 

Baptism is the public act through which a believer identifies with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Who should be baptized? 

Every person that has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior

 - Acts 2:41

 

When should I be baptized? 

When you make the decision to follow and accept Jesus, baptism of the Holy Spirit and water baptism should be the next step. In fact many have been filled with the Holy Spirit even while being baptized in water. They received both the water and spirit baptism at the same time. (But not always the case) ​
